Hybrid Saltland

The isolated landscape Hybrid Saltland is based on an existing environment. Technology is used to speed up evolutionary processes so they become observable to humans. As an artist, I use these technological additions to influence the formation of the landscape. Because technology plays a major role in the Anthropocene, the work also examines the human role in the landscape.

Through block-shaped interventions, I study how the forms I create are changed by natural forces. These forms also offer a new perspective on what humans leave behind and how nature eventually takes it over.
