Sometimes it is difficult to get a grip on the hard reality in which we often find ourselves. In times like these we long for the ability to escape from reality and lose ourselves in our imagination. However, in this chaotic world where change is the only constant, it’s tough to find some peace of mind. In this project, I observed reality in order to transform it into something positive.
I sat down in the roughest nature The Netherlands contains, on the coldest moment of the week, with just a hunk of clay and a camera. There, I tried to make something out of this roughness up until the point where it got too dark for me to see what I was doing. In this case, the rough nature represents the hard reality. I tried to create something out of this hard reality, to try and subtract myself from the cold and the wind, to find peace in my imagination.
